1. Does not heat up after being powered on: Check to see that the power cable is in excellent shape, the plug is making good contact with the power source, and the power switch is switched on. Use a multimeter to check the endpoints of the power switch connected to the heating element. If the resistance is infinite (∞), it indicates that the heating element is damaged and needs to be replaced.
2. The low-temperature setting remains quite high: If the temperature remains high even when set to the low temperature setting, the thermostat may be malfunctioning and needs to be checked and replaced with a thermostat of the same specifications.
3. The indicator light is not on: It is possible that the current-limiting resistor of the LED is damaged. You need to replace it with an LED of the same specification and pay attention to whether it is in series or parallel to determine the resistor value, to prevent the fault from occurring again.
4. Dampness caused the temperature to drop: If the electric blanket gets damp, it may cause a decrease in heat. In this case, you can either dry the blanket directly or place the electric blanket on top to avoid affecting its performance.
5. Heating wire breakage: Use a voltage tester to test the heating wire. If the voltage tester does not light up, that is the break point of the heating wire. You need to cut open the inner layer of the heating blanket, put an insulating sleeve on the broken heating wire, reconnect the break point, then pull the insulating sleeve towards the break point, so that the break point is inside the insulating sleeve, and finally sew up the cut inner layer.
When repairing electric blankets, safety is the most important thing.
